Therapy Programs: Joint Rehab | Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Our Carpal Tunnel programs include both nonoperative and post-surgical management of carpal tunnel syndrome.

The general format of our nonoperative management can include:

  • A resting volar wrist splint
  • Education Activity modification
  • Work site modification
  • Pain and edema control
  • Pain control - modalities as needed
  • Tendon gliding exercises

Our post-surgical management for uncomplicated recovery
can typically be accomplished in 2-3 visits.

1st week postoperative

  • Wound care (as needed)
  • Education
  • Tendon gliding exercises instruction

2nd or 3rd week postoperative

  • Scar mobilization instruction
  • Activity or work site modification
  • Progressive exercise instruction

Full recovery

  • Return to work re-evaluation or functional capacity evaluation (FCE)

Of course, the therapeutic management of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome may vary in the type of treatment and the length of treatment according to the level of compression of the median nerve and the reaction of the patients to the resulting physical changes.

Whatever the level of severity, we coordinate treatment with the physician to ensure quality care and maximum improvement at discharge.
